Slot Secures Midfielder

Liverpool manager Arne Slot has made his first summer signing, securing the services of midfielder Fabio Carvalho from Fulham. The highly-rated youngster has signed a five-year deal at Anfield.

Carvalho, 19, is a Portugal U21 international and has been capped at various youth levels for England. He made his Premier League debut for Fulham in 2021 and has scored eight goals in 38 appearances for the Cottagers.

The fee for Carvalho is believed to be in the region of £5 million, with a further £2.7 million in potential add-ons.

Slot's First Acquisition

Carvalho is Slot's first signing since he was appointed Liverpool manager in June 2022. The Dutchman has been tasked with rebuilding the squad after a disappointing season that saw the Reds finish eighth in the Premier League.

Slot is expected to be active in the transfer market this summer, with a number of other signings expected to follow Carvalho's arrival. The Reds have been linked with a number of players, including Borussia Dortmund's Jude Bellingham, Barcelona's Gavi, and Inter Milan's Denzel Dumfries.
