Background:

Born on July 21, 1976, in St. Louis, Cori Bush is the daughter of Errol Bush, an alderman and former mayor of Northwoods, Missouri. She graduated from Cardinal Ritter College Prep High School and attended Harris-Stowe State University.

Activism and Political Career:

Cori Bush has been a vocal advocate for social justice and racial equality. She rose to prominence as a leader of Black Lives Matter protests in Ferguson, Missouri, following the fatal shooting of Michael Brown in 2014.

In 2018, Bush ran for Congress as a Democratic candidate against incumbent Representative Lacy Clay. Despite initial setbacks, she ultimately won the primary election and went on to defeat Republican candidate Anthony Rogers in the general election.
