Tournament Details
The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 will take place from 20 November to 18 December 2022 in Qatar. It will be the 22nd edition of the competition and the first to be held in the Arab world.
Participating Teams
32 teams will compete in the tournament:
- Hosts: Qatar
- AFC (Asia): Saudi Arabia, Iran, Australia, Japan, South Korea
- CAF (Africa): Senegal, Morocco, Ghana, Tunisia, Cameroon
- CONCACAF (North and Central America): Mexico, United States, Costa Rica

The remaining three slots will be filled through inter-confederation play-offs.
Qualifying Format
Teams from all six FIFA confederations will compete for a place in the tournament. The host nation automatically qualifies, while the remaining 31 teams will qualify through regional qualifying tournaments.
Venues
The tournament will be played at eight stadiums in five host cities: Lusail, Doha, Al Khor, Al Wakrah, and Al Rayyan.
